Although not as bitterly sarcastic as the music of Shostakovich, Prokofiev also used satire in his music. Later Handel went to London, where his Italian-style operas were all the rage. The young Sergei wrote his first opera at age nine, and by the time he was accepted into the St. Interesting story about this piece... a queen of some place called Sheba arrived somewhere. The final and most famous of a set of three solo piano works. Suites of the ballet music were heard in Moscow and the United States, but the full ballet premiered in the Mahen Theatre, Brno (then in Czechoslovakia, now in the Czech Republic), on December 30th 1938. This wasn't just from his (apparent) willingness to grind out the occasional "Hail, Motherland!" songs demanded of Soviet composers. This website lists famous composers who dedicated their lives to the propagation of music. Usually Prokofiev's death is attributed to cerebral hemorrhage (bleeding into the brain). Family tragedy: Prokofiev separated from his first wife, Lina, in 1941, leaving her to care for his two sons. Eli Siegel taught that sincerity has a structure. He had founded a musical journal and found that he could no longer write for it, so he retired.
