Flight operation /Flight Dispatch operation

This syllabus manual detail the training requirements to be used in the training of Flight Operation Officer (Flight Dispatcher).The syllabus is developed to standardize the dispatcher training that meets the regulatory body requirements for flight dispatcher examination.

The syllabus contains a balanced basic theoretical knowledge training and practical training for flight operation officer/flight dispatcher job. Proper emphasis has been given to each course to avail sufficient practical projects which will relate the training courses to the actual job environment. In addition to practical exercises and assessments in the training facility, the program in this syllabus will also provide opportunities for live on-job-training in the flight dispatch areas including flight simulation and actual root familiarization (if applicable).

Duration of the Program

The flight Dispatcher Training program takes a total of 954 hours.

Qualification Level and Certification

Each student who successfully completes a course of instruction as outlined in this syllabus will be issued a diploma of graduation and transcript from the College for successful completion of the Flight Operation Officer Training.

Target Groups

Any citizen who meets the entry requirements of Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority and capable of participating in the learning activities is entitled to take part in the Program Entry Requirements

Any applicant above 18 years of age who has successfully completed10th grade to the minimum is entitled to take part in the program. In addition to this, candidates may be required pass the entrance exam conducted by the college and medical examinations, as applicable.

Mode of Delivery

This Program is characterized as a formal training Program in which training will be supported with lecture, discussion, simulation, hands on practice and workplace engagements. The practical on the job training should be given to give trainees enough exposure to the actual airline operation and get hands-on practice on live airline dispatch operations and satisfy the regulatory body requirement to sit for Flight Operations Officer license Examinations.

Trainee Assessment and Certification

Each trainee shall be assessed to ensure that the stated objectives are met. A trainee must score 70% for both theory and practical sections (if applicable), in each course. A trainee who scored below 70% must take re-exam per the examination policy of the college.

Quality Control

The Quality Assurance Manager of National Aviation College will monitor the quality of this training program during implementation of the syllabus. Quality audit will be conducted as per the quality manual to assess proper realization of the objectives of syllabus.
